Intimate long-form documentary tracing Shohei Ohtani’s roots and cultural influence in Japan.
I edited key scenes throughout the Japan section of the Sports Illustrated documentary “Ohtani: Made in Iwate”, exploring the life story of Shohei Ohtani and what he means to his home country.
Working across the film’s Japan chapters, I shaped the pacing, music and archive to carry the audience from Ohtani’s hometown beginnings through to his status as a national icon.
It’s a strong example of how I use editing to sustain a story over a feature-length runtime, keeping scenes emotionally engaging while building a cohesive narrative.
